North America Trouble-free Transportation of Brandenburger Products: First Brandenburger Liner Installed in North America
Until last year, the pipe lining procedure was largely unknown in North America. As our partner company South East Pipe Survey decided to install the first-ever pipe liner, this marked the beginning of yet another successful joint effort. It was important for us as the manufacturer to ensure that neither the long-distance transportation nor the different temperature conditions have an adverse effect on the pipe liner material.
Controlled Quality
There are three main factors that determine whether a pipe lining procedure is successful or not: the initial liner material, the curing process and the installation method. For us at Brandenburger, ensuring that all relevant guidelines are complied with during production is part of our quality standard. The distance from our facilities in Germany to the installation site was several thousand kilometers—an enormous distance that our pipe liner had to travel without being damaged.

Thanks to the minimum effort required at the installation site, traffic could be routed to a single free lane.
Our ready-made liner was packaged in light-impervious foil and shipped in a container together with the portable UV equipment. Despite all of the precautions in place, there is always a small amount of risk involved. However, neither the three weeks at sea nor the temperature difference ranging from +35°C in Atlanta to -10°C in Toronto had an effect on the quality of the liner.

The UV light source is moved into the sewer pipe to be rehabilitated.
Our partner company South East Pipe Survey encountered no problems at the installation sites. They recorded the safe installation and curing procedures using cameras mounted on the UV light source. The results provided confirmation that, meter for meter, the required quality levels were fulfilled in the sewers in summery Atlanta just as in wintry Toronto. In fact, the novel liner technique attracted many interested spectators in North America. All in all, this provided proof of the maturity of the entire process: from installing the liner, to filling it with compressed air and to the fast and controlled UV light-curing process.

Even the high mid-summer temperatures in Toronto had no effect on the quality of the liner material.
