For more than 75 years, the Brandenburger Group has been a worldwide leader in the market for high-tech composite materials. Our consistent focus on innovation, customer orientation, and a high level of technical expertise have made Brandenburger a globally recognised partner in the field of  heat protection technology.

 

Since the early 1990s, the company has also been one of the leading providers of pipe liner technology for trenchless sewer rehabilitation.

 

The company was founded in 1939 by Kurt Brandenburger. It is based in Landau in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The company’s founder was a pioneer in the field of plastics engineering and enjoyed an excellent reputation as an author of numerous expert papers. The independent, medium-sized company group is certified in accordance with DIN ISO 9001. It has a workforce of 140 employees.

Expertise and Innovation Through Own Research

Innovation has always been one of the secrets behind the success of the Brandenburger Group. The work of our own research and development department has resulted in the Brandenburger Group’s ownership of numerous national and international patents. Through close collaboration with independent institutions, universities and prominent companies in the plastics industry, as well as through developments resulting from collaboration with customers, Brandenburger has been able to continuously advance its product range.

No-compromise quality, compliant with DIN EN ISO 9001

Brandenburger products safeguard the functionality of machines and systems, reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. Therefore Brandenburger assigns highest priority to maintaining a consistently high product quality. With this no-compromise attitude towards quality, Brandenburger has obtained a leading position in the market. The Brandenburger quality management system (QM system) was specially developed for this purpose. It was certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 as early as 1994.

1939

In a small workshop in Manebach in Thuringia, Germany, company founder Kurt Brandenburger begins to manufacture the first heat protection plates, and thus becomes one of the global pioneers in the field of technical plastics.

1949

After WWII, Kurt Brandenburger and his family fled from East Germany, to start a new company in Speyer (in Rhineland-Palatinate, West Germany) with nothing more than the know-how he had gained over the years.

1950

Founding of mechanical engineering company for manufacture of high-frequency welding and packaging machines. First edition of self-published magazine on plastics processing “Der Plastverarbeiter” (“The Plastics Processor”)

1952

First participation in world’s largest plastics trade fair: K ’52 in Duesseldorf.

Founding of Tonbild company that goes on to manufacture millions of plastic sound image records according to a proprietary procedure.

1960

Construction of first heat sealing machine for blister packaging.

1971

Move to new facilities in Landau (Palatinate), Germany.

1983 - 1990

Switchover to asbestos-free products with equal and in some cases improved material properties. Since 1990, Brandenburger’s friction bearing materials have also been asbestos-free. Thus the entire product range was asbestos-free long before materials containing asbestos were banned by law in 1995.

Development of ablation materials for rocket engines in the ARIANE space programme. Start of manufacture of light-curing prepregs for sewer rehabilitation.

1993

Granting of international patent for recently developed pipe relining procedure that utilizes seamless Brandenburger liner product in trenchless sewer rehabilitation.

Certification of Brandenburger QM system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001. Commencement of series production of seamless Brandenburger Liner using special machines designed and built by Brandenburger.

1997

Founding of UV Reline.tec GmbH & Co. and expansion of Brandenburger activities to include development and manufacture of innovative, world-wide patented UV light-curing plants and equipment.

2001

Founding of Brandenburger Sewer Rehabilitation GmbH.
